John --
Your
Coaching Edge has provided the University of Arkansas technology
transfer operation a decided boost over the last three years,
especially in the area of rapidly helping new staff members not only
learn 'tools of the trade' but also understand why our work is
important and how our office can make a positive impact in the larger
picture. I can't overstate the beneficial effects on morale and esprit
de corps. Your professional experiences, expertise and skill set enable
you to transfer knowledge effectively--and with passion.
From
a time management perspective, the training format you offer, with
intensive sessions over the phone and follow-up assignments and e-mail
exchanges in between, is very efficient compared to 'losing' a
colleague's output for several days while they travel to and from a
conference. In the same vein, the relationship provides cost-effective
training, including for example the complementary (and complimentary)
offerings through the teleforums on specific topics and access to your
extensive business and university network.
I look forward to continuing the relationship with Your Coaching Edge on a recurring basis.
Regards,
Scott Hancock

My
weekly phone sessions with John Jenkins, and the other services
provided by YourCoachingEdge, have helped tremendously in my position
as an Intellectual Property Associate in a small tech transfer office.
His personable attitude and extensive attention to detail have made our
weekly sessions comfortable, goal-oriented, and very productive. John’s
weekly “Action Items” that he routinely asks each of his callers to
write down and act upon have made me more focused and have helped me
set attainable goals.
I have recently been contemplating a move
to another position and have made the decision that if my new employer
is unwilling to pay for YourCoachingEdge’s services that I would be
willing to pay John myself…..he’s that good!!

John
Jenkins has broad experience in tech transfer management and is a
business coach for people who specialize in tech transfer. His fresh
perspective has given me new ideas regarding how I can do my job better
and more effectively with existing resources.
The conference call yesterday made me think about the setting (and communicating) of priorities.
The numbers already show improvement in my performance, and I feel I am back on track.
I
never gave much thought to having a “coach” before, however, the
results have been so positive – I find that I am much more focused and
motivated after these conversations.
I have been amazed at how
these sessions have caused me to focus on those things that make me
successful. I learned that I knew the answers to my success, but over
the years I allowed myself to forget many important details vital to
adding value to my clients. John, you helped me recapture those
important details and apply them.
What sets John apart from
other coaches is that he has accurate foresight of challenges and
problems that can be faced. He is able to realize the strengths and
weaknesses of an action, and then discover ways to leverage those
strengths to produce desired result.
Your listening skills as
well as your genuine insights are much appreciated. Our coaching
sessions seem to go by very quickly. I recommend the coaching sessions
to any executive who is interested in improving their management and
leadership skills.
During the last six months I have been
organizing a market research and training business. It has taken six
months to get this far on my own; however, in four weeks John propelled
my business from an idea into a reality. It would not have happened as
efficiently without John’s coaching.
[My boss] took me up on my offer to be his back-up... You were right, you knew what he would say! (Ask and you shall receive.)
I
cannot thank you enough for all your help during the last 5 weeks. The
sessions were invaluable in enabling me to clearly evaluate situations
and select alternatives.
The time spent on the phone and with
emails has been very valuable to me. I not only have had a chance to
reflect on the business that I work for and vent concerns and
frustrations, but I’ve also had a chance to evaluate my own goals and
how I can improve myself.
I fell into a procrastination
pattern for achieving goals with the mind set of “I’ll get to it
sometime”. Instead you’ve helped me realize the importance of the goals
that I’ve had in mind and pushed me further along the path to reaching
those goals. Thank you very much.
I was looking for some help
on the net and found your site. It is probably one of the most helpful
I've found. Thanks for making you newsletter available to me.
I
want to thank you for working with me in one-on-one coaching sessions
over the past four weeks. I found our coaching sessions together
refreshing. You enabled me to sit down and focus on areas I wanted to
improve upon professionally without reprisal.
Your openness
and suggestions enabled me to focus on current issues and concerns with
my business operations. I enjoyed our communication on how I might be
able to incorporate the issues going forward and have already had some
success. Regular coaching sessions are the key to continued
improvement.
I can see how the weekly discussions are
important to keep the improvement at the forefront of what one wants to
accomplish. I am working to have you work with some others on my team.
Everyone needs to keep themselves in good business shape! Thanks Coach!
John,
thanks for taking the time to talk with me before the convention and
offer your thoughts and suggestions. I did shorten my 4 talks and had
time for a few comments and questions as we went. Also, thanks again
for remembering and asking about the results. That says a lot about you
and your organization.
I am confident that I wouldn't have taken
any of these steps toward school without your helping hand. Now that
I'm started I don't think I can afford not to follow through and get
this degree.
John is always first to listen, ask a question, and
understand my objectives. I really like and appreciate his personal,
yet professional, approach to coaching. He takes the time to understand
my personal and business goals and needs. Based on this understanding
he gives accurate coaching advice.
Simply put, John’s coaching
has taken my business idea and helped make it real. He gave me the
confidence to proactively implement plans.
